Prof. Simon Litsyn
Prof. Simon Litsyn received his Ph.D. from the Leningrad Electro-Technical Institute in 1982.
Since 1991 he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering - Systems of the Tel Aviv University, where he is a Professor and Department Chair.
He served as Associate Editor for Coding Theory, IEEE Transactions on Information Theory from 2000 to 2003.
Since 2006 he is the Editor of Advances in Mathematics and Communications.
Dr. Litsyn has been with M-systems since 2000, which was acquired by Sandisk in 2006.
In 2007 he was awarded the title of Engineering Fellow at Sandisk (the company’s highest technical position).
His research interests include coding and information theory, On 2012 he Co-founded StoreDot which develops Bioinspired nanotechnological devices.
Prof. Litsyn authored "Covering Codes" (Elsevier, 1997) and "Peak Power Control in Multicarrier Communications" (Cambridge University Press, 2007), about 200 papers in profile journals and 10 patents. Prof. Litsyn also acts as the Chairman of Israel Section at IEEE
