Based on surveying thousands of startups and entrepreneurs globally, the Compass Project ('startup genome') has marked Israel in general, and Tel-Aviv in particular, the most vibrant stat-up ecosystem in the world outside of the United States.
Checking for the data, one can find supportive evidence for this claim: The total Hi-Tech investment was about $4.4B in 2015, bringing the average investment per capita to be among the highest in the world. During this year, the industry has also yielded about $9B in about 100 startup exists. The informal statistics marks about 1,000 new startups every year, and about 6,000 active hi-tech ventures in every given moment, demonstrating the potential of the country and its ecosystem. This vibrant community and activity has attracted about 350 multinational corporations setting R&D centers in Israel, increasing the magnitude of the effects.
The book 'Startup Nation' further discuss the factors and drivers for this outstanding phenomena.
